ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned recent attacks on Jordan, expressing Islamabad’s solidarity with the country as the Middle East conflict continues to escalate.
The premier during a phone call with King Abdullah II, expressed deep concern over ongoing hostilities in the region, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
He stressed the need for restraint, de-escalation, and the resolution of tensions through diplomacy.
“The prime minister expressed deep concern over the ongoing hostilities in the region. While expressing his strong condemnation of the attacks on Jordan during the ongoing regional escalation, the prime minister expressed solidarity with the people of Jordan in these difficult times,” the statement adds.

The two leaders also extended Eid greetings during the call while underscoring the importance of peace, unity, and harmony within the Muslim Ummah.
The two leaders agreed to maintain close communication on bilateral and regional issues, reaffirming their commitment to cooperation during these challenging times.
The Prime Minister recalled King Abdullah II’s visit to Pakistan last November and reaffirmed Islamabad’s steadfast commitment to further deepening the close and brotherly ties between the two countries.
He highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation across all areas of shared interest, particularly in trade, investment, and defence.
