ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the country’s exports reaching $2.7 billion in the first month of the new fiscal year.

In a statement, he said the country’s exports have witnessed an increase of 17 percent from July last year to July this year, while a nine percent increase within just one month is a highly welcoming sign for the country’s economy.

The Prime Minister said export-led growth is the top priority of the government.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the government’s prudent economic policies are yielding positive results, with key indicators moving in the right direction.

He praised the efforts of the economic team, emphasising the government’s commitment to boosting exports, attracting investment, and creating a business-friendly environment.

Sharif noted that the introduction of a faceless customs assessment system is improving port operations, while the rising tax-to-GDP ratio reflects fiscal progress.

He highlighted improvements in Pakistan’s credit ratings by international financial institutions and record gains in the stock market as signs of growing economic stability.

The Prime Minister also reaffirmed support for overseas Pakistanis, saying they are being facilitated in every possible way to enhance remittances.
