PARIS: Advisor to Prime Minister on Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah Khan has praised UNESCO’s role in assisting member states through its capacity-building programs on physical education and sports.
He said this during his visit to UNESCO headquarters in Paris on Wednesday. He is in France to attend the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics and represent Pakistan at the ´Change the Game’ Ministerial Forum.
He called for supporting global efforts focused on sports for peace and development and building a bright future for coming generations.

The Advisor also participated in the discussion titled ‘Leveraging Quality Physical Education and Sport for Sustainable Social Legacies.’ He appreciated UNESCO for organizing the forum ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Rana Sanaullah said that mega sports events, like the Olympics, act as a unifying force in bringing the entire world together in healthy competition.
He said sports and physical education provide productive pathways for individuals as well as societies to build skills and resilience, such as communication, leadership, team-building, and critical thinking.
He added that sports also teach discipline, develop friendship across borders and play a positive role in promoting mutual understanding and enhance the physical and mental health of youth.
