ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Special Assistant on Human Rights and Women Empowerment, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, has called upon the international community, UN bodies, and the OIC to adopt a proactive and unwavering policy to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe as Israel imposes a total siege on the war-torn Gaza, depriving 2.3 million people of food, water, and fuel.
Speaking at a Roundtable titled “Gaza Under Siege: Humanitarian Catastrophe of Israel Aggression,” organized by the Riphah Institute of Public Policy, Mushaal highlighted Israel’s determination to annihilate the entire Palestinian population after its forcible and unlawful occupation of their land.
The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Human Rights and Women Empowerment expressed her distress over the Israeli government’s blatant disregard for international laws, as it indiscriminately targeted hospitals, residential areas, and shelter homes while subjecting Gaza to a genocide.
She drew a parallel between the coercive tactics employed by the Indian and Israeli governments to suppress dissenting voices and emphasized their shared disregard for international norms.
Mushaal emphasized that the war-torn region was facing a severe humanitarian crisis due to ongoing Israeli aggression and blockades, with war-weary civilians left without access to food and water while enduring relentless airstrikes by Israeli forces.
She criticized Israel’s supporters for emboldening the nation to commit atrocities in Gaza with impunity.
Mushaal called on Muslim countries to sever diplomatic ties with Israel and impose an oil embargo until it recognized the Palestinians’ right to self-determination.
She urged the international community to swiftly take action and hold Israeli occupation forces accountable for their war crimes against the Palestinian people. Immediate intervention was needed to prevent further massacres and humanitarian catastrophes.
Mushaal demanded that Israel be held accountable for its war crimes, with practical measures taken to reach a permanent two-state solution for the Palestine issue.
