ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday received the United States Chargé d’Affaires to Pakistan, Natalie Baker, at his office and discussed matters of mutual interest.
The Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to shared objectives and enhanced cooperation with the US in international forums, especially in light of Pakistan’s UN Security Council membership (2025-2026), said a statement issued by the foreign office.

The two sides underscored the significance of the longstanding Pakistan-US partnership in promoting regional peace and security
It is worth mentioning that the Commander of the United States Central Command (Centcom), General Michael Kurilla, on Wednesday said that Pakistan is a “phenomenal partner” in counter-terrorism, citing the country’s operations against terrorism in Balochistan and against terrorist groups like the Islamic State-Khorasan (IS-K).
Pakistan and the US reaffirmed the continuation of counter-terrorism cooperation during a dialogue in Washington on May 10.
The dialogue underscored the cooperation between the two countries in addressing the most pressing challenges to regional and global security, including the threats posed by terrorist outfits such as the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and IS-K.
In April, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in the pair’s first phone call, where America’s top diplomat expressed interest in deepening cooperation in a variety of sectors, including counter-terrorism.
Pakistan and the US share a longstanding partnership in counter-terrorism, built on intelligence sharing, joint operations, and regional security cooperation.
