DUBAI: Pakistani cricketers have suffered a notable decline in the latest ICC Men’s T20I rankings, following a string of underwhelming performances in the ongoing three-match series against Bangladesh in Mirpur, where the team has already lost the first two matches.

Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris endured the steepest fall, dropping 20 places to 50th in the batting rankings after managing just four runs across both games.

Young opener Saim Ayub also slipped three spots to 64th following a meagre total of seven runs in two innings. Top-order batter Hassan Nawaz, who registered consecutive ducks, dropped 22 places to 68th.

Even experienced players who are not part of the current squad were not spared.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan each slipped one place to 13th and 14th respectively.

White-ball captain Salman Ali Agha, who struggled with the bat and scored only 12 runs from 32 balls across the first two games, dropped 18 positions to 93rd.

Fakhar Zaman was one of the few positives for Pakistan, climbing eight places to 79th in the batting rankings after a composed 44-run knock in the series opener.

In the bowling rankings, the trend continued downward. Abbas Afridi, despite claiming three wickets in two matches, slipped two spots to 22nd with 608 rating points.

Haris Rauf, currently sidelined with injury, fell four places to 24th, while Shaheen Afridi dropped two spots to 36th.

Leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed made the most significant gain for Pakistan in the bowling charts, climbing 12 positions to 49th with 499 rating points.

However, vice-captain Shadab Khan dropped four places and now ranks 65th.

There was a rare bright spot for Pakistan in the all-rounders’ category, where Abbas Afridi rose 26 positions to 45th after scoring 22 and 19 runs in addition to his bowling contributions.

Globally, Australia’s Travis Head retained the top position in the T20I batting rankings, followed by India’s Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma in second and third place respectively.

West Indies T20I captain Shai Hope broke into the top 10, moving to 10th with 670 points after scoring 55 and 9 in the series against Australia.

In the all-rounders’ rankings, West Indies star Roston Chase made a significant leap, rising seven places to claim the second spot with 221 points.

He now trails only India’s Hardik Pandya, who leads with 252 points. Chase’s performance against Australia, including a 60-run knock in the first T20I, played a key role in his rise.

Australia’s Cameron Green also gained eight places to move to 28th in the all-rounders’ rankings.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga and Australia’s Marcus Stoinis slipped three places each, making room for Chase’s advancement.

In the bowling rankings, New Zealand pacer Jacob Duffy retained the number one position, followed by England’s Adil Rashid and India’s Varun Chakaravarthy.

Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman climbed 17 places to break into the top 10, now tied with Arshdeep Singh at ninth.

His teammate Mahedi Hasan rose nine spots to 16th, while New Zealand’s Matt Henry moved up 13 places to 29th.
