BEIJING: Pakistan National Pavilion at the Sichuan Agriculture Expo in Chengdu, China, has introduced the famous tourist sites in Pakistan and displayed a number of the agricultural goods produced by the country.
Over a dozen Pakistani companies displayed their agricultural products at the Expo. The Pavilion attracted great interest from the participants attending the event. Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Moin ul Haque, inaugurated the Pavilion.
He was joined by the Secretary Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Vice Governor of Sichuan Province Hu Yun, and Pakistan’s Acting Consul General in Chengdu, Agha Hunain Abbas Khan.
In his address during the opening ceremony, the envoy underlined the strong bilateral ties between Pakistan and China, which are based on political trust, practical cooperation, and strategic communication. He also underscored the close cooperation between Pakistan and Sichuan, including through sister province and city collaborations.

It is hoped that Pakistan’s participation in the Expo will inject impetus into the cooperation between Pakistan and China in the agriculture sector. Recently, five important agriculture SPS protocols have been finalized between the two countries, giving Pakistan access to a market of $30 billion in chilies, cherries, cooked beef, dairy, and other livestock products.
Expo Contributes to Pakistan’s Exports
This Expo will contribute to Pakistan’s efforts to increase its exports to China.
Sichuan Agriculture Expo is the largest agriculture event in western China and caters to more than 400 million people. Over 2,000 exhibitors are attending the Expo, and more than 200,000 people are likely to visit it.
