ISLAMABAD: The Angoor Adda highway in the southern Waziristan tribal territory of Pakistan has been approved as a transit route for exports to Afghanistan.
The federal government decided to include Angoor Adda as an Export Land Route to Afghanistan on the recommendation of the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR). The Ministry of Trade and Commerce modified its Export Policy Order after receiving approval from the federal government.
The authorized export routes to Afghanistan are Torkham, Chaman, Ghulam Khan, Kharlachi, Qamaroddin, and Karez.
Export from Pakistan to Afghanistan
According to sources, export from Pakistan to Afghanistan fell drastically on a 25.54 MoM basis in April and a 24.66 YoY basis.
In April 2023, exports to Afghanistan remained at $76.4 million, compared to $11.40 million in the same period last year. In April 2023, the volume of trade between Islamabad and Kabul remained $125 million.
