NEW YORK: Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, on the sidelines of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, held a meeting with the Dutch counterpart Hanke Bruins Slot, where they engaged in discussions on fostering cooperation in trade, investment, and agriculture.
Both diplomats discussed subjects of shared interest, underlining the enduring and amicable relationship between the two nations, which spans over 75 years, read a statement issued by the Foreign Office on issued on Tuesday.
During their meeting, the two ministers pledged to further enhance collaboration, with a specific focus on areas such as dairy production, water management, and information technology.

Pakistan Appreciate Netherlands’ Support
Foreign Minister Jilani reiterated the significance of Pakistan’s trade and economic ties with the Netherlands, expressing gratitude for the ongoing support extended by the Netherlands in maintaining Pakistan’s GSP Plus status.
Expressing concerns about the recent surge in Islamophobic incidents in some European countries, Foreign Minister Jilani emphasized that such actions disregard the religious sentiments of more than 1.5 billion Muslims and cannot be justified in the name of freedom of speech. He urged his Dutch counterpart to take effective measures to prevent future instances of Islamophobia.
Both ministers concurred on the importance of strengthening relations across various domains of mutual interest, both at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
