ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the Netherlands celebrated the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic ties on Thursday by jointly launching a commemorative stamp.
Foreign Secretary Syrus Sajjad Qazi and Dutch Ambassador Henny de Vries unveiled the stamp and celebrated the occasion with a cake-cutting ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1948, Pakistan-Netherlands bilateral cooperation has continued to thrive in various sectors, including politics, trade and investment, science and technology, education, water management, climate change, and collaboration at multilateral institutions. The Netherlands stands as the second-largest trade partner for Pakistan’s exports to the European Union.
The unique postage stamp was designed by acclaimed Pakistani visual artist Aisha Khalid, recognized as a trailblazer in the emerging global miniature art movement originating from Pakistan.
The stamp’s special design symbolizes the enduring friendship and mutually advantageous collaboration between Pakistan and the Netherlands.
