Pakistan Navy, PMAS Joint Search and Rescue Operation for Missing Fishermen Underway: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: A joint search and rescue operation of Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) is underway for missing fishermen near Hajamro Creek.

Pakistan Army media affairs wing, ISPR, said in a statement on Friday that a fishing boat Al-Asad with a crew of 45, sank in the open sea near Hajamro Creek on last Tuesday due to bad weather.

Upon receiving the information, the Joint Maritime Information and Coordination Center, with the support of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, Maritime Headquarters, and Maritime Rescue Coordination Center, initiated timely operations, read the ISPR statement.

Pakistan Navy’s aircraft and helicopters, along with PMAS vessels and boats, are actively engaged in search and rescue efforts for the missing fishermen.

Pakistan Navy and PMAS will keep continue the search and rescue operation for the missing fishermen in coordination with local authorities and relevant stakeholders, said ISPR.
