KARACHI: Pakistan Navy’s (PN) Emergency Response Teams have evacuated more than 1000 personnel from different remote villages in the Chuhar Jamali region during relief and rescue operations in the Creeks area amid tropical cyclone Biparjoy.
PN has been actively engaged in relief and rescue activities in the Creeks area in collaboration with the local government, it to a statement on Wednesday.
Pakistan Navy Rescues Fishermen
The PN teams also rescued forty fishermen, including children from Kajhar and adjoining Creeks.
The rescued fishermen were provided medical assistance by Pakistan Navy medical teams exclusively employed for the purpose.
The PN spokesperson said that diving teams of Pakistan Navy SSG helped the local administration with the safe evacuation of nearly 9000 personnel from Kharo Chhan, Keti Bandar, and Tarky Bandar to relief camps.
Emergency Response Teams from PN Creeks Brigade patrolled remote coastal parts to provide immediate support to the aggrieved populace.
He added that PN was maintaining continuous liaison with National Disaster Management Authority, the provincial government, LEAs, and local administration to provide emergency support amid the natural disaster of the cyclone.
