RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Navy has organized a series of activities in celebration of World Maritime Day, said a military statement on Thursday.
This day is dedicated to highlighting the critical role of the maritime sector, emphasizing security, shipping safety, and the importance of ocean awareness.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), this year’s theme, “The Future of Shipping: Safety First,” underscores the need for prioritizing safety in maritime operations.
In light of this theme, Pakistan’s Chief of Naval Staff highlighted the significance of aligning national interests with the global shift towards environmentally friendly maritime practices.
To raise awareness about the maritime sector, the Pakistan Navy organized various events, including seminars, maritime galas, awareness walks, essay competitions, and lectures. These initiatives aimed to engage the public and foster a deeper understanding of maritime issues.
Key seminars were held at the Maritime Center of Excellence and the National Institute of Maritime Affairs, with strong support from the Pakistan Navy.
The Pakistan Navy reaffirmed its commitment to utilizing all available resources to promote awareness and education regarding the maritime sector, recognizing its vital contribution to the nation’s economy and security.
