ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s armed forces have continued their retaliatory military campaign against the Afghan Taliban and Indian backed terrorists referred as Fitna al-Khwarij under Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, security sources said.

The Pakistan Army carried out a strong operation in the Bajaur sector, destroying several Afghan Taliban posts located near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, according to the sources.

The operation involved precision strikes, including the use of guided missiles to target terrorists’ positions.

Officials said the military actions are part of ongoing efforts to counter cross-border threats and dismantle terrorist infrastructure operating near the frontier.

Security sources emphasised that the operation will continue until all strategic objectives are achieved.

In a separate action in the Kurram sector, Pakistani forces targeted and destroyed key hideouts used by Afghan Taliban elements and Fitna al-Khwarij.

Several terrorists were killed during the operation, while others fled the area.

Authorities said the operations aim to strengthen border security and prevent terrorist groups from carrying out attacks against Pakistan from across the border.

Operation Ghazab lil-Haq

Pakistan last month announced the launch of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq after the unprovoked firing by Afghan Taliban forces from across the border.

On Sunday, security officials reported that Pakistani forces conducted overnight strikes in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province, destroying a technical support infrastructure and a facility used for storing equipment.

Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar had said that cross-border shelling by Afghan Taliban forces targeted civilian areas in Bajaur district.

According to the minister, the artillery and mortar fire resulted in the deaths of four civilians and left a child injured.

The escalating tensions have raised concerns about regional stability, prompting calls from international stakeholders for restraint and renewed diplomatic engagement between the two neighbouring countries.
