ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Met Office has warned that there is a risk of flooding in the low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot and Peshawar due to likely rain from today (evening/night) to July 30.
According to the latest alert issued by Pakistan’s weather agency, “Due to likely heavy rains from today (evening/night) to July 30, there is a risk of flooding in local and seasonal rivers and canals of Dir, Swat, Shangla, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Murree, Galiyat and Kashmir.
Stay cautious
The Met office said that citizens are advised to be cautious during the forecast period. It added that there is a risk of traffic movement being affected due to landslides in the hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Murree and Galiyat.

The Met Office said in a statement on X, that hot and humid weather is likely today (Tuesday) in southern parts of the country.
According to the Met Office, nullahs of river Ravi and tributaries of river Kabul are likely to experience moderate flooding during next 48 hours.
