ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan men’s cricket team is scheduled to tour the West Indies for a two-match Test series in July-August 2026. The series will form part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

Dates and Venues Confirmed by CWI Vice-President

Cricket West Indies (CWI) Vice-President Azim Bassarath announced the schedule during an executive luncheon at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain. The tour is set to run from July 15 to August 7, 2026. The itinerary includes a four-day warm-up match and both Test matches.

“We will also host the Pakistan tour of the Caribbean from July 15-August 7, 2026, comprising the four-day warm-up match at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy (BLCA), the first Test match at the Queen’s Park Oval and the second Test at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy,” Bassarath stated.

Brian Lara Academy Gains Full International Status

Bassarath, who also serves as the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) president, highlighted a significant infrastructure milestone. He confirmed that the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba has now been accredited as a full international venue, capable of hosting matches across all formats.

Series Aligns with FTP, Schedule Pending Finalisation

The red-ball tour aligns with Pakistan’s Future Tours Programme (FTP). While the broad windows and venues are confirmed, the complete match schedule, including exact dates, is yet to be finalised by the two boards.

Recent History Between the Two Sides

The upcoming series continues a recent pattern of closely contested cricket between the two nations. Pakistan toured the West Indies earlier this year for limited-overs fixtures. The most recent Test series between the sides was played in January 2024 in Pakistan, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Pakistan’s last Test tour of the Caribbean in 2021 also concluded with the same result, highlighting the competitive balance.
