ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to establish a dedicated “Pakistan Mart” in Dubai to strengthen the international presence of Pakistani export products.
The initiative is being led by Pakistan’s National Logistics Corporation (NLC) in collaboration with UAE-based DP World, according to Radio Pakistan.
The state-of-the-art mart will be constructed near Jebel Ali, with DP World bearing the full construction cost.
It will provide more than 500 Pakistani retailers and exporters a direct opportunity to sell their products to buyers across the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.
Speaking to the media about the project, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan described it as a “game changer” for boosting Pakistan’s trade.
He said the Pakistan Mart would serve as a vital platform for Pakistani exporters, helping them access markets across the globe.
The Pakistan Mart will feature a comprehensive trade hub including warehousing units, showrooms, retail outlets, and e-commerce fulfillment centers.
Designed to support key Pakistani export sectors—such as textiles, surgical instruments, sports goods, food products, and perishables—the facility also aims to help businesses tap into global digital markets.
In a detailed presentation, National Logistics Corporation (NLC) Director General and DP World Vice Chairman Fakhr-e-Alam briefed government officials and business leaders on the project’s scope and vision.
Abdul Rehman Siddiqui, Senior Vice President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), hailed the initiative as a “milestone” for Pakistan’s economic future and praised the collaboration between domestic and international stakeholders.

DP World officials emphasised the mart’s potential to act as a global gateway for Pakistani goods, offering an integrated solution that brings together logistics, warehousing, and exhibition infrastructure under one
Though a launch date has yet to be confirmed, development activities are already underway. The Ministry of Commerce has directed the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and other departments to actively identify export-ready enterprises and facilitate their tenancy at the mart.
In FY25, Pakistan’s exports to the UAE reached $2.121 billion, marking a modest growth of 1.87 percent. However, imports surged to $7.958 billion, further widening the trade deficit.
By launching this strategic facility, Pakistan aims to reduce the trade imbalance, boost foreign exchange inflows, and strengthen its domestic export sectors.
