ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has met with Mr. Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and expressed satisfaction over the overall positive trajectory of the bilateral ties.
According to a PM House statement on Tuesday, the meeting was held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government (CHG) Meeting, being held in Islamabad from 15-16 October 2024.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister thanked the Kyrgyz Republic’s positive and active participation in the SCO CHG Meeting and appreciated the Kyrgyz Republic’s support extended to Pakistan as the SCO Chair.
He also recalled the warm and brotherly ties between the two nations and expressed satisfaction over the overall positive trajectory of the bilateral ties between Pakistan and the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Prime Minister conveyed Pakistan’s strong desire to further strengthen cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic and stressed the need to explore new avenues of collaboration in the areas of trade, investment, people-to-people contacts and regional connectivity.
Akylbek Japarov congratulated the Prime Minister on the successful holding of the SCO CHG Meeting, as well as the exceptional arrangements made for the visiting delegations. He also thanked Pakistan for extending him warm hospitality and the accompanying delegation.
The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic reciprocated the Kyrgyz Republic’s strong desire to continue working with Pakistan to enhance bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual benefit for the two countries.
