NEW YORK: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday met with the Foreign Minister of Kuwait, Abdullah Al-Yahya, and discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral ties.

During the meeting, both sides focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, energy, food security, and defence.

In the meeting held on the sidelines of the International Conference on Two-State Solution at the United Nations, they also discussed close collaboration at multilateral fora, including at the UN and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Office.

Both sides agreed to undertake high-level exchanges in the near future to deepen bilateral engagement.

Expressing deep concern over the ongoing Israeli aggression against Palestinians and the deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the two ministers emphasised the urgent need for a just and lasting resolution to the conflict.

They also expressed hope that the outcomes of the conference would make a meaningful contribution toward achieving a two-state solution.
