ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Aviation Khawaja Saad Rafique on Tuesday has taken airline hospitality to another level for the tea-loving nation.

According to a statement made by the federal minister, free tea will now be provided to airline passengers at the airports in an effort to win their favour. Passengers using the airports in Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore will first have access to the facility.

A spokesperson for the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) stated that tea suppliers have been invited to submit bids for the project. Airports will begin offering free tea to travelers in three to four weeks, he added.

Even the Indian pilot Abhinandan, who was held captive by Pakistan, praised the Pakistani tea. The largest tea importer in the world is Pakistan, which cost the government’s treasury an astounding $600 million in 2017. Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal urged the country to forgo a few cups of tea in order to lower the high import bill in June.
