NEW DELHI: The Pakistan High Commission has said it issued as many as 215 visas to Sikh pilgrims from India to attend at event to be held in the connection with the ‘ Day’ of Guru Arjan Dev, local media reported on Tuesday.

The event will be held in Pakistan from June 8 to 17th. As per media reports, the issuance of visas is in line with Pakistan’s commitment to completely implement the Bilateral Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974. A large number of pilgrims from India visit Pakistan to observe religious festivals and events annually.
Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi said that Chargé d’Affaires Salman Sharif wished the visiting pilgrims a fulfilling journey to Pakistan. The envoy said Islamabad remains fully committed to preserving holy religious places and provide facilitation to the visiting pilgrims.
The Sikh pilgrims will visit a number of holy sites including Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, Gurdwara Panja Sahib, and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib during their stay in Pakistan.
