ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Commerce Jam Kamal Khan met with Iranian Minister for Industry, Mining, and Trade, Mohammad Atabak, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Islamabad to discuss ways to enhance trade relations, industrial collaboration, and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
During their meeting, both ministers underscored the importance of boosting economic ties through increased bilateral trade and investment, as highlighted in a news release. They identified significant potential for enhancing trade, which has yet to be fully realized.
The ministers explored opportunities for cooperation in various sectors of mutual interest and emphasized the need for closer collaboration in regional markets and beyond, utilizing the SCO platform to foster trade growth and regional stability.
Khan highlighted the strategic positions of both countries as gateways to Central Asia and the Middle East, advocating for stronger economic cooperation to not only enhance bilateral trade but also promote broader regional prosperity.
Both parties expressed their commitment to continuing discussions and developing action plans aimed at overcoming trade barriers and streamlining regulations to facilitate smoother business interactions.
