ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Dr. Arif Alvi and his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi emphasized the crucial need for coordinated efforts among Islamic countries to halt the ongoing humanitarian crisis and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

In a 45-minute telephone call, President Dr. Arif Alvi expressed deep concern about the dire situation in occupied Palestine, particularly Gaza, due to continuous Israeli aggression and occupation. Despite the tragic loss of over 19,000 Palestinian lives, including women and children, President Alvi regretted the UN Security Council’s failure to impose a ceasefire and address the unspeakable Israeli atrocities.

The President reiterated the importance of a just solution to the Palestinian question, advocating for an independent and contiguous Palestinian State with Al-Quds-Al-Sharif as its capital. He stressed that such a resolution is critical for lasting peace in the Middle East.

Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Diplomatic Efforts to Address Gaza Situation

Pakistan reaffirmed its support for all diplomatic initiatives in this regard and commended Iran’s concerns and initiatives regarding the ongoing situation. President Alvi also praised Iran’s principled stance on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.

President Alvi extended heartfelt condolences to Iran over the heinous terrorist attack on an Iranian police station in Sistan-Baluchistan on December 15 this month. He conveyed Pakistan’s determination to collaborate with Iran in the fight against terrorism.

The leaders also discussed bilateral economic cooperation, with President Alvi highlighting the joint inauguration of the Mand-Pishin Border Sustenance Marketplace and Gabd-Polan Electricity Transmission Line as significant developments that would further enhance the strong ties between the two brotherly countries.

Both Presidents acknowledged the shared culture, religion, and history between Pakistan and Iran, emphasizing their commitment to working together to improve economic, trade, and cultural relations.
