ISLAMABAD: Pakistan, Iran and China held their first trilateral meeting on security and counter-terrorism in Beijing on Wednesday, Pakistan’s Foreign Office said.
A statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office said that the three sides held detailed discussions on the “regional security situation, especially the threat of terrorism faced by the entire region”.

The statement added, “Based on the outcome of these consultations, the three nations decided to institutionalize the trilateral consultations on security and counter-terrorism for which further details will be worked out”.
Abdul Hameed, Director General of Counter Terrorism at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Bai Tian, Director General of the Department of External Security Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and Seyed Rasoul Mosavi, Assistant to the Foreign Minister and Director General of South Asia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, led their respective delegations, the statement maintained.
According to the FO statement, Abdul Hameed Syed Rasoul Mosavi also called on Assistant Foreign Minister of China Nong Rong.
