The PIMEC included business-to-business (B2B) and business to Government (B2B) meetings, the signing of MoUs, and media interactions. The main purpose of PIMEC is to highlight Pakistan’s potential for a blue economy, and explore opportunities to the maritime Industry both in the private and public sectors to display products in one go.

This will also help to provide a platform for liaison with the international maritime industry for joint ventures, transfer of technology, and research to provide support and importance to Pakistan’s Maritime and Defence industries.

The PIMEC’s International Maritime Conference-2023 (IMC), which is spearheaded by the National Institute of Maritime Affairs, has been organized under the theme ‘Embracing Blue Economy, Challenges and Opportunities for Developing nations’.

The IMC, will thematically comprise 4 sessions, and cover 27 papers by national and international speakers of repute.

International Maritime Exhibition, Conference

The maritime Exhibition and Conference are being conducted in tandem with Multinational Exercise AMAN-2023, which will provide an opportunity for more than 122 delegates from 50 participating naval forces to attend the event.

This will also enhance opportunities for local exhibitors to interact with international attendees of visiting Navies from across the globe.

The Maritime sector is the heart of global trade and economy, and the current value of the global ocean economy is over US $1.5 trillion per year, which is likely to be doubled in size by 2030.

It can therefore be construed that the prosperity of a nation and economic growth is to a greater extent, facilitated by the maritime sector. Therefore, Pakistan Navy in coordination with MoMA, took the initiative of bringing national and international maritime stakeholders to enhance maritime awareness and bring to the fore the largely untapped maritime sector of Pakistan. It is believed that the PN-MoMA joint initiative of holding the first Pakistan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference will not only bolster the blue economy but also become the forerunner of the socio-economic development of the coastal belt of Pakistan.
