ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Interim Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti has strongly condemned the firing incident at Bab-e-Dosti near Pakistan-Afghanistan Chaman border from the other side, local media reported on Wednesday.
He said this at a joint news briefing along with federal ministers Energy and Information about meeting of the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
A senior Pakistani citizen and a child were killed while two others were injured in the firing from across the border, said Sarfraz Bugti saying such incidents are not acceptable.
The minister said Pakistani forces expressed great restraint on unprovoked firing due to the presence of citizens.
He expressed the hope that Afghan government would take this incident seriously and take strict action the culprits. He said such incidents have a negative impact on Pakistan-Afghanistan ties. The minister demanded the Afghanistan government to hand over the culprit to Pakistani authorities.
He further said the law enforcement agencies during an intelligence-based operation killed ten terrorists.
Praising the security forces for successful operation the minister said Pakistani forces are fully capable to deal with terrorists in appropriate manner.
GCC inks Free Trade Agreement with Pakistan
Caretaker Commerce Minister Gohar Ejaz says in his remarks said the Gulf Cooperation Council has inked a Free Trade Agreement with Pakistan that will help Pakistan to boost its exports to GCC countries.
He lauded the role of Saudi Arabia in concluding the Free Trade Agreement with the six Gulf States, first in the 14 years.
Gohar Ejaz further said that a mechanism is being evolved for the certification of Pakistani work force working in the Gulf countries, allowing them to align their skills as per demands of the market.
The Commerce Minister said it has also been decided to provide gas to the export industry during winter to enhance Pakistan’s exports.

He said Pakistan will continue facilitating genuine trade of Afghanistan but smuggling prone items have been placed in negative list.
The Commerce Minister added Pakistan wants Afghan trade to be used for the internal consumption of Afghanistan and not for smuggling to Pakistan.
Energy Minister Muhammad Ali in his remarks said the government has finalized two cargoes of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for December and it is hoped that there will be no deficiency of gas in coming days.
He said Pakistan International Airlines will be taken towards privatization in coming months.
