ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Information Minister Murtaza Solangi told the Senate on Tuesday that the government would heed House recommendations on salaries and allowances for government employees, including those in Balochistan.
Addressing questions during the question hour, particularly regarding the underrepresentation of Balochistan officers at the federal level, the minister urged lawmakers to formulate a policy and offer recommendations if they perceived any injustice.
In response to queries from Senators Fauzia Arshad, Mohsin Aziz, and Danesh Kumar, Solangi welcomed suggestions from Senate members on utilizing zig-zag technology in rural areas for brick production. He acknowledged the effectiveness of zig-zag technology in reducing emissions and increasing efficiency, although he noted that it was still relatively expensive.
Addressing Senator Irfan Siddiqui’s question about the non-allotment of plots to retired employees, the minister committed to obtaining information from the relevant department and informing the House accordingly. He added that if deemed appropriate by the chair, the matter could be referred to the privilege committee.

In response to Senator Mushtaq Ahmed’s question, the caretaker federal minister suggested that the issue of F14, F15, and Bhara Kahu sectors be forwarded to the relevant standing committee. Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani subsequently referred the matter to the concerned committee for further investigation.
Regarding the use of bulletproof vehicles, Solangi stated that no caretaker minister was currently utilizing such vehicles. He shared that all details regarding the use of bulletproof vehicles by ministers and advisors during the previous government had been disclosed to the House.
Solangi said that senators have the right to criticize decisions and policies made by the previous government concerning the provision of bulletproof vehicles to ministers and advisors.
