RAWALPINDI: Pakistan and Indonesia have completed a joint military exercise ‘Shaheen Strike-II’ focused on counter-terrorism, Pakistan military’s media wing said on Wednesday.

The Pakistan–Indonesia Joint Military Exercise Shaheen Strike-II was conducted from November 8 to 19, focusing on the counter-terrorism domain, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated. Combat teams from the Pakistan Army and the Indonesian Army participated in the exercise to rehearse operations in built-up areas, counter-improvised explosive device measures, and other counter-terrorism tactics, ISPR added.

The statement said all training objectives were successfully achieved, and the exercise was formally concluded on November 18.

The closing ceremony of the joint military exercise was attended by a General Officer as Chief Guest from Pakistan, while senior military officials represented the Indonesian side, ISPR stated.

Throughout the exercise, troops from both countries demonstrated the highest standards of professionalism and operational excellence.

“The joint training aimed at refining drills, procedures, and techniques involved in Counter Terrorism operations, with particular emphasis on operations in built-up areas and counter–improvised explosive devices measures,” ISPR stated.

Shaheen Strike-II also served to further strengthen the longstanding military-to-military cooperation between the two friendly countries.

The sessions helped both armies share experience, improve interoperability, and learn from each other’s operational practices. According to officials, such joint exercises not only improve tactical readiness but also build mutual confidence between the participating forces.

Military cooperation between Pakistan and Indonesia has grown steadily over the years, and the joint military exercise is seen as another milestone in that relationship.
