ISLAMABAD: Upon his arrival in Islamabad, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Indonesia’s Foreign Minister, Sugiono, and discussed Pakistan-Indonesia relations and cooperation at multilateral fora.
During the discussion, the two leaders exchanged views on collaboration within the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other international platforms, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
They also deliberated on pressing “global developments”, including the situation in Somalia and ongoing efforts to achieve lasting peace in Gaza.
Both leaders agreed to maintain close contact on these issues, underscoring the commitment of Pakistan and Indonesia to coordinate on matters of regional and international significance.

Pakistan and Indonesia share historically strong diplomatic and economic ties, dating back to Indonesia’s early recognition of Pakistan in 1947.
Both countries maintain close cooperation at regional and global forums, including the OIC, ASEAN-related engagements, and various multilateral initiatives.
Pakistan and Indonesia also work together on trade, investment, counter-terrorism, and humanitarian efforts, particularly in conflict-affected regions like Gaza and Somalia.
This conversation reflects ongoing high-level coordination aimed at strengthening bilateral and multilateral collaboration in the face of global challenges.
