DUBAI: Pakistan will take on arch-rivals India in a high-stakes Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 clash in Dubai today, with the Green Shirts looking to build on their winning start and secure a memorable victory against their traditional rivals.
Pakistan opened their Group A campaign with an impressive 35-run victory over Thailand, putting themselves in a strong position in the race for the semi-finals.
The much-anticipated encounter will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
India have already secured a semi-final berth after victories over Thailand and Hong Kong, China, while Pakistan still have a group-stage match against Hong Kong after Saturday’s contest.

Muneeba Ali anchored the batting effort with 54 off 52 balls before Pakistan’s bowlers successfully defended the total.

Sadia Iqbal returned excellent figures of 3-11, while Tuba Hassan claimed 2-17, highlighting the strength of Pakistan’s bowling attack.

Pakistan can also take confidence from their recent bilateral tour of Sri Lanka, where the batting unit crossed the 170-run mark twice on slower surfaces.
Pakistan Spin Attack Could Prove Crucial Against India
Pakistan’s spin department could emerge as a major weapon in Dubai.
Nashra Sundhu and Sadia Iqbal are ranked seventh and ninth respectively in the ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings, giving Pakistan two highly rated options against India’s powerful batting line-up.
Young batter Shawaal Zulfiqar could also provide attacking impetus in the powerplay. The 21-year-old is yet to feature against India and has demonstrated her ability to accelerate at the top of the order.
India have started the tournament strongly, defeating Thailand by 94 runs before registering a 137-run victory over Hong Kong.
Openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma have been among India’s leading performers, scoring 143 and 92 runs respectively.
India all-rounder Deepti Sharma has also acknowledged the challenge posed by Pakistan’s bowling attack.
For Pakistan, victory would not only strengthen their position in Group A but also provide a significant confidence boost heading into the knockout-stage race.
