BANGKOK: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has unveiled the fixtures and format for the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026, with the perennial highlight, Pakistan- India clash, scheduled for February 15.
The eight-team tournament for emerging women’s cricketers will be hosted in Bangkok, Thailand, from February 13 to 22.
Rivals drawn together in Group A
The tournament groups promise high-stakes cricket from the outset. Arch-rivals India and Pakistan have been drawn together in Group A, alongside the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Nepal.
Group B will feature Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and hosts Thailand.
Pakistan will open their campaign against Nepal on the tournament’s opening day, February 13, before facing the UAE on February 17.
India begins its quest against the UAE on February 13, setting the stage for their marquee showdown with Pakistan two days later.
Knockout stages set for late February
The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals, which are slated for February 20.
The tournament will culminate with the final on Sunday, February 22.
The “Rising Stars” tournament is a crucial developmental platform for the next generation of women’s cricketers in Asia, offering valuable competitive experience.
