ISLAMABAD: The ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India are likely to impact the continuity of the Indian Premier League (IPL); however, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 will continue as scheduled.

The two nations are currently embroiled in a conflict following an attack in Pahalgam, located in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

In the early hours of 7 May, India launched Operation Sindoor, which the Ministry of Defence described as “a precise and restrained response” targeting cross-border locations.

This has led to the closure of Pakistan’s airspace and changes in flight operations across neighbouring Indian states.

The repercussions are expected to be long-term, with various sectors across both countries, including sport, feeling the impact.

IPL travelling restrictions

With both India and Pakistan currently hosting their flagship T20 competitions, uncertainty surrounds the fate of these tournaments.

It is the first time the IPL and PSL are running concurrently, and both leagues include numerous international players travelling extensively within their respective nations as per the fixtures.

According to Cricbuzz, the Mumbai Indians will no longer travel to Dharamshala due to the airspace closure in that region.

There are also indications that the match between the Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals may be relocated to an alternative venue.

The closure of airspace in northern India, including over Dharamshala—an IPL venue—has disrupted flight operations.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that the Pakistan Super League X will proceed as scheduled.

Islamabad United are set to face Quetta Gladiators later today at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The toss is scheduled for 7.30 pm, with the match to commence at 8 pm.
