ISLAMABAD: Predicting which teams might make it to the last stages of the ICC World Cup 2023, South African cricketing legend Hashim Amla has said that he believes Pakistan will be one of the teams that will qualify for the semi-finals of the mega event.

He predicted that South Africa, India, Pakistan, and England will make it to the semi-finals of the ICC World Cup 2023 scheduled to commence on 5 October in India.

Chris Gayle Advises Pakistani, Indian Players

Meanwhile, former West Indian opener Chris Gayle had also predicted Pakistan as one of the semi-finalists of the World Cup.

He said that whenever those teams Pakistan and India play, especially in a World Cup, the revenues they generate are humongous. One match can take care of the entire ICC event.

He added that Pakistani and Indian players should demand a lot of money for those matches because those contests are high-paid games TV-wise. Gayle said that he does not control the board or the ICC. If he were in their position he would want a lot more.

The ICC World Cup 2023 will be played in India with ten teams fighting for the elusive title across ten venues from 5 October to 19 November, with the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad hosting the tournament opener and the final.

The mega event will be played in a round-robin format with all teams playing against each other for a total of forty-five league matches.

The top four teams will make it to the semifinals, which will be held in Mumbai on 15 November and in Kolkata on 16 November. The semi-finals and the final clashes will have reserve days.
