ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Defense of Pakistan and the Ministry of Defense of Hungary have signed a bilateral agreement that would provide a solid legal framework for enhancing defense cooperation between the Armed Forces of both countries.
The agreement was signed during the visit of Secretary of Defense Lieutenant General (R) Hamood uz Zaman Khan on the invitation of State Secretary for Defense Policy and Defense Development, Ministry of Defense, Hungary, Dr Gaspar Maroth.
In contrast, Lt General (R) Hamood uz Zaman Khan was flanked by Additional Secretary Ministry of Defense Rear Admiral Faisal Amin, who had visited Budapest from November 10-11, said a news release received here on Saturday.
In a ceremony arranged at the Ministry of Defense, Hungary, the State Secretary and Secretary of Defense signed the “Agreement between the Ministry of Defense of Hungary and the Ministry of Defense of Pakistan on Defense cooperation.”
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on regional and global security and matters of mutual interest, particularly in defense collaboration.
The deadly flood situation in Pakistan also came under discussion. The Secretary of Defense Pakistan thanked the Hungarian State Secretary for arranging the bilateral meeting. In the end, it was mutually agreed to conduct such visits to promote defense ties between both countries. APP
