ISLAMABAD: Pakistan hockey team’s coaching camp for September’s Asian Games started at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.
Head coach Shahnaz Sheikh said that the training camp for the all-important games had started today. The camp, which will continue till 18 September, will allow players to come together, build chemistry and fine-tune their skills.
The Asian Games will be held from 23 September to 8 October in Hangzhou, China.
The Games also serve as qualifiers for the 2024 Olympics. The event winners will qualify for Paris 2024.
Pakistan’s Squad for Asian Games
Goalkeepers: Abdullah Ishtiyaq Khan, Waqar, Akmal Hussain, Abdullah Sheikh, and Ali Raza.
Defenders: Arbaz Ahmad, Mohammad Sufyan Khan, Mohammad Abdullah, Aqeel Ahmed, and Mohammad Bilal Aslam.
Midfielders: Mohammad Nadeem Khan, Usama Bashir, Ahtisham Aslam, Mohammad Baqar, Mohammad Imran, Mohammad Murtaza Yaqoob, Arbaz Ayaz, and Syed Shehbaz Haider.
