ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s national hockey team have arrived in Malaysia to take part in the FIH Hockey Nations Cup.
Pakistan state-run television, PTV reported that the tournament will be held in Malaysia from June 15 to June 21.
Pakistan is placed in Pool B, where they will face strong opponents including hosts Malaysia, Japan, and New Zealand.
The national team will begin their campaign on June 15 with a match against the host country Malaysia, according to PTV news.
The Green Shirts will play against Japan on June 16 and New Zealand on June 18.
Final session
The semi-finals will take place on June 20, followed by the final on June 21.
Earlier, local media reported that Pakistan hockey team had completed its third and final training session.
Local media cited head coach Tahir Zaman as saying that the Green Shirts have completed their final phase of preparation for the Nations Cup.
He said the event is crucial for Pakistan, as winning it would secure qualification for the FIH Pro League — one of the top international hockey events.
