LAHORE: Pakistan head coach Gary Kirsten reached Lahore on Monday where he is expected to hold an important meeting with the Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi about the future of cricket in the country.
The PCB chief had summoned Kirsten for a consultation about the future of the Pakistan team especially the fate of captain Babar Azam.
A few days ago, Kirsten shared a report on the team’s poor performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 with the chairman of PCB. He highlighted the skill level, physical fitness and mindset of players in the report.
He put a big question mark on the physical fitness level of some players, saying they are incapable of competing at the highest level. He also proposed remedial measures to prepare the team for the upcoming international events.
Earlier, the chief selector Wahab Riaz also shared a report with the PCB chairman and alleged differences in the team and other issues. The PCB chairman is also expected to hold a meeting with Wahab Riaz and captain Babar Azam in the coming days.
