ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan has every right to give a befitting response to India after its missile strikes on the country, state run Radio reported.
The premier said the enemy has carried out a cowardly attack at various locations in Pakistan and “We are ready to give a befitting response to this act of war imposed on us.”
He said the entire nation stands by the country’s armed forces with a high morale and spirits. Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan will not allow its enemy to succeed in its nefarious objectives.
Radio Pakistan cited security sources saying, India hit the areas in Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Ahmad Pur Sharqia and Muridke.
Cowardly Indian strikes
Eight Pakistanis have been martyred and thirty-five injured in cowardly Indian strikes inside Pakistan, Radio Pakistan reported.
Addressing an important news conference, Director General ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said various sites have been hit by India. He said five Pakistanis including a minor girl were martyred in strike on Ahmed Pur East.
He said Indian strikes also hit mosques in Muzaffarabad, Kotli and Muridke.
Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Indian aggression will be responded to in a befitting manner with the support of people of Pakistan. He said media will be taken to these sites today where naked Indian aggression will be exposed before the world.
Pakistan downs five Indian jets
Dawn News reported that the Pakistani military has brought down five Indian jets in retaliation for late-night strikes launched by India.
Earlier, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif told local media that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has shot down two more Indian fighter jets, taking the total number of Indian fighter jets to five.
Speaking to Geo News, Khawaja Asif said Pakistan had gained the upper hand in its retaliatory action, while responding to the Indian forces’ strikes with strength and precision.
He stressed that the Pakistani armed forces acted decisively to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and downed five Indian fighter jets.
