Pakistan Govt Starts Distribution of 100,000 Laptops on Merit to Youth

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has revealed that billions of rupees have been allocated in the current fiscal year’s budget for the distribution of 100,000 laptops on merit to deserving youth. He made this announcement during a ceremony held in Islamabad on Friday, where laptops were distributed among students from various universities.

Addressing the laptops distribution ceremony, PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed his commitment to providing laptops to the youth, stating that if resources permit, he aims to distribute ten million laptops, as he believes that Pakistan’s development and prosperity lie in empowering the youth.

Recalling his tenure as Chief Minister of Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that hundreds of thousands of laptops were previously distributed among the youth. These laptops played a significant role in enabling young individuals to access online education and pursue freelancing opportunities, especially during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Significance of Equipping Youth with Laptops

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of equipping the educated and talented youth with laptops, stating that it is a necessity of the modern era. He expressed confidence that with the hard work and dedication of the youth, Pakistan will achieve major successes on the economic front and regain its lost glory.

Shehbaz Sharif further underscored the significance of the youth for the country’s future and prosperity. He mentioned that steps are being taken to uplift the youth, such as allocating five billion rupees in the budget for agriculture loans and vocational training programs.

In her remarks, Special Assistant on Youth Affairs, Shaza Fatima, highlighted the PML-N’s continuous efforts to empower the youth through initiatives like the Prime Minister Youth Program.

The distribution of laptops on merit to deserving youth aims to bridge the digital divide and provide opportunities for academic and professional growth, enabling the youth to contribute to the country’s progress.
