ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s federal cabinet, chaired by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, on Wednesday approved the regularization of 227 daily-wage teachers in the light of the Islamabad High Court’s verdict. These teachers, as mandated by the court, include individuals who successfully passed a test conducted by the Federal Public Service Commission, a decision later upheld by the Supreme Court.

Additionally, the cabinet endorsed the reconstitution of the Cabinet Committee on Enforced Disappearances, recommended by the Interior Ministry.

The committee, now under the leadership of the federal minister for law and justice, was previously headed by former caretaker interior minister Sarfraz Bugti.

During the meeting, PM Kakar expressed the government’s commitment to the anti-polio mission, pledging efforts towards the complete eradication of the disease.

He paid tribute to the security personnel who sacrificed their lives in the Bajaur terrorist attack on Monday and said that the state would not forget their invaluable sacrifices.

The cabinet further approved the relocation of federal courts and tribunals to an under-construction building and approved amendments to the building’s design.
