ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces over the last few days have killed 34 ‘Indian backed terrorists’ in a series of high-tempo intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, the military’s media wing said in a statement on Wednesday.
The operations were part of a relentless counter terrorism campaign aimed at eliminating Indian Proxies, Fitna Al Khwarij & Fitna Al Hindustan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The term Fitna al-Khawarij is used by Pakistan’s government and military to refer to the banned terrorist groups, most prominently the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist group.
While, Fitna al Hindustan refers to banned terrorist groups involved in terrorist activities in the country’s Balochistan province.
“On 24 February 2026, twenty-six khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy Fitna Al Khwarij were killed in four separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, whereas eight khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy Fitna Al Hindustan were killed in an engagement in Sambaza, Balochistan,” the ISPR said.
It added security forces in North Waziristan and surrounding districts have conducted a series of successful operations against terrorists.
In North Waziristan’s Hassan Khel area, a group attempting to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border was detected by security forces.
The troops engaged the group with precision, resulting in the elimination of one terrorist, identified as an Afghan national affiliated with the Indian proxy group, Fitna al Khwarij.
In Lakki Marwat District, an intelligence-based operation led to a successful engagement with terrorists at a targeted location. After an intense exchange of fire, three terrorists were neutralised.
In Bannu District’s Narmi Khel area, security forces neutralised ten terrorists during separate operations, while another operation in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, based on precise intelligence, resulted in the elimination of twelve terrorists.
Meanwhile, in Sambaza, Zhob District, an intelligence-led operation against terrorists of Fitna al Hindustan led to the successful neutralisation of eight terrorists after an intense exchange of fire.

These operations reflect the continued efforts of security forces to counter cross-border infiltration and terrorist activity in the region.
“Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from Indian sponsored killed khwarij and terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area,” ISPR said.
A sanitisation operation is ongoing to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists found in the vicinity, and the relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam,” as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan remain committed to eradicating the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
Terrorist sanctuaries in Afghanistan
Pakistan has witnessed a rise in cross-border terror attacks since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in Kabul in 2021.
Islamabad has repeatedly urged the Afghan Taliban regime to take action against terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory.
However, the Taliban regime failed to take any action against terror groups and prevent Afghan soil from being used against Pakistan.
Last Sunday, Pakistan carried out intelligence-based precision airstrikes targeting seven terrorist camps along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in response to recent suicide attacks.
The strikes were conducted in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar, Paktika and Khost provinces and targeted facilities linked to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan terror group and its affiliates, including Daesh-Khorasan.
