RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Pakistan’s security forces foiled a major terrorist plot in North Waziristan, destroying a vehicle prepared for a suicide attack and killing three terrorists belonging to “Indian Proxy” Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the military media wing said on Saturday.
According to the military media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on October 24, Pakistan’s security forces foiled a “major terrorist incident and averted a potential catastrophic attack”.
Security forces conducted the operation based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy terrorist group, Fitna al Khwarij — a state term used for the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), ISPR said.
The terrorists were preparing a vehicle-borne suicide bomber for a major terrorist attack when security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in the Jhallar area of North Waziristan district in north-western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the ISPR stated.
During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and, through precise and skilful targeting, destroyed the vehicle being prepared for the suicide attack and killed three Indian-sponsored terrorists, according to the ISPR statement.
“Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored Kharji found in the area as a relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces,” ISPR stated.
“Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” Pakistan’s military resolved.
On October 24, Pakistan’s security forces killed eight Indian sponsored terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Tank district following reports of the presence of Fitna al Khawarij terrorists, ISPR said on Thursday.
The military media wing stated that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces and law enforcement agencies as well as the killing of innocent civilians.
On September 14, 2025, security sources reported growing internal divisions within Fitna-al-Khawarij, following heavy setbacks in recent months.
Several major formations of the group were eliminated during border crossings in the past three months, leaving the leadership unsettled and increasingly fractured.
