ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s pharmaceutical sector is undergoing a transformative shift with the deregulation of non-essential medicines, driving the sector’s growth and expansion, according to a social media post of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
Stable supply
According to the post, driven by SIFC, this initiative ensures a stable medicine supply while grow and expend the industry.

Medical tourism
Earlier, Radio Pakistan reported that SIFC is considering setting up a Pharma Economic Zone to promote medical tourism and attract investment in the pharmaceutical industry. Pakistan is already working on establishing Special Economic Zones under CPEC. One of these will be reserved for the pharma industry, according to the Radio Pakistan.
