ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has expressed profound sadness and extended its sympathies to China, offering full support and humanitarian aid in the wake of the loss of precious human lives caused by devastating floods in China.
A statement issued by the Foreign Office reads, “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives due to the floods in China. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the affected individuals and grieving families,” said Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch.
She further stated, “In this critical time, Pakistan stands prepared to extend maximum assistance and humanitarian aid to China. We are confident that with China’s leadership and the resilience of its people, the nation will overcome this temporary hardship.”
Floods in China and Climate Challenges
Emphasizing shared challenges, the spokesperson highlighted that Pakistan is also grappling with the adverse effects of climate change, including heatwaves, heavy rains, and floods. “Much like China, Pakistan is facing the repercussions of climate change. We are dedicated to collaborating with China to achieve our mutual goals of addressing climate change and enhancing disaster management and prevention capacities,” elaborated Baloch.
