ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Saturday expressed condolences to the government and people of Georgia over loss of precious lives in the deadly landslide in Shovi town, Pakistan’s Foreign Office said.
Pakistan state-run Radio reported that the Foreign Office said Islamabad wishes a speedy recovery to wounded and prays for safe recovery of the missing people.

A landslide hit the resort in the Racha region on Thursday. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvil said many people were still missing. In a statement, the country’s Interior Ministry said that the rescue operations are being carried out to recover the missing people.

Earlier, officials in Georgia said that at least seven people have died while 30 others missing following a deadly landslide in Racha Friday. Officials said that recuse personnel are making efforts to rescue people. Similarly, army has also been called in to support search operation in the region.
