ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Ambassador to Russia Shafqat Ali Khan on Thursday said that ties between Pakistan and Russia have been developing positively for the last many years, including in the energy sector, and expressed the hope for further strengthening of energy cooperation between the two sides.

Russia’s Minister for Energy Nikolay Shulginov held a meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia in connection with the completion of his term in Russia, a press release added.
Nikolay Shulginov thanked Shafqat Ali Khan for positive cooperation in the sector of energy.
He said, “Over the several years of our combined work, much has been done, including thanks to your understanding of the specifics of Pakistan-Russia cooperation. We look forward to a further productive energy talks between Islamabad and Moscow,”.

According to APP, they also held discussions on bilateral cooperation in the field of energy. Nikolay Shulginov said that it is important to accelerate further the constitution of a working group for the preparation and further execution of a comprehensive plan for the development of the gas industry in Pakistan.
The Russian Minister further stressed that Moscow was interested in holding a multilateral dialogue with the participation of Islamabad to work out matters on the global transport corridor. _ APP
