ISLAMABAD: Over three thousand people flocked to the Pakistan embassy, presenting the world-acclaimed ‘Pakistani truck art’, traditional clothes, gems, artefacts, furniture, arts, carpets and rugs, as well as the tasty cuisine on Sunday.
The event was a part of the yearly program called Passport DC “Around the Embassy Tour.”
A handsome number of Men, women and children comprising Pakistani-Americans, members of the diplomatic, officials, dignitaries, think-tank community, non-governmental bodies and media members witnessed the display of the diversity and richness of Pakistan’s culture.
The event was held in a successful manner where various corners of the jam-packed ground floor and the adjacent Jamshed Marker Hall of the Embassy displayed the soft and vibrant picture of the country and remained the center of attraction where the attendees enjoyed a variety of instrumental Pakistani music.

Stalls Showcasing Pakistan’s Art and Culture
The stalls were added with traditional and non-traditional stitched and unstitched designer clothes and beautiful bridal dresses, jewellery, gems, hand-knotted rugs, carpets, artefacts, Chinioti furniture, paintings, music instruments, footwear (Peshawari Chappal) and various other spices that are known for adding unique aroma and taste to Pakistani cuisine.
In addition, work related to the IT sector was also on display, reflecting the potential of the youth in the country in providing innovative digital IT solutions to expanding businesses across the world. The visitors queued up at the henna stall to have their hand-painted. ‘Food Taste Corner’ and the ‘Tea Stall’, with their pleasant atmosphere, attracted residents of Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia and the nearby states.
The visitors enjoyed and were enthralled with the beautiful Truck Art of Pakistan, painted on a Rickshaw and a Scooter.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, thanked the visitors for their participation adding that such events would be helpful to show the people the silent features of the country and to promote the economic activities, investments as well as tourism in the country.
