BEIJING: In a dignified investiture ceremony at the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing on Wednesday, Ambassador Khalil Hashmi presented the esteemed ‘Hilal-e-Quaid-i-Azam’ award to two prominent Chinese figures on behalf of the President of Pakistan.
The recipients of the award were Ambassador Sha Zukang, former Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations in Geneva and former President of the China-Pakistan Friendship Association, and Ambassador Nong Rong, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council and former Ambassador of China to Pakistan.
In his address, Ambassador Hashmi congratulated the honorees and paid tribute to their significant contributions to enhancing bilateral relations between Pakistan and China.
He emphasized the profound impact of their work and underscored the enduring, robust friendship between China and Pakistan, which he described as a model of international relations grounded in mutual respect, strategic trust, and a shared commitment to global peace and development.
Both Ambassadors Sha Zukang and Ambassador Nong Rong expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the President of Pakistan for the recognition.
They reaffirmed their dedication to further strengthening the China-Pakistan relationship, acknowledging that the award symbolized not only their individual efforts but also the collective contributions of many committed individuals from both nations.
The ceremony was attended by a wide array of dignitaries, senior government officials, and members of the Chinese State media.
