ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Egypt have agreed to continue to engage further and work together to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation and dialogue between the two nations, local media reported on Friday.
The two sides agreed during a meeting between Additional Foreign Secretary (Middle East) Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh with Egypt’s Assistant Foreign Minister for Asia Ahmed Shaheen. The two sides also discussed bilateral relations during the meeting.

Pakistan’s envoy to Egypt, Ambassador Sajid Bilal was also present on the occasion. They reviewed the broad range of bilateral ties including trade, political, and investment relations.
They also held talks on ways to further strengthen bilateral ties including by convening the next round of Joint Ministerial Commission meetings and Annual Bilateral Consultations later this year in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Additional Foreign Secretary and the Assistant Foreign Minister for Asia lauded the successful holding of the Fourth Pakistan-Africa Trade Development Conference and Single Country Exhibition held in Cairo, Egypt from January 9-11, 2024, which coincided with the 75th-anniversary celebrations of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Egypt and Pakistan.
