ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has earned 263.840 million US dollars by providing different transport services in various countries during the first quarter of the current fiscal year (2022-23) as compared to the corresponding period of (2021-22).
According to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the performance showed a growth of 75.95% as compared to 149.950 million US dollars earned during the same period of the last year.
During the period under review, sea transport services’ exports recorded an increase of 369.50%, up from 19.900 million US dollars last fiscal year to 93.430 million dollars during the period under review.
Freight Services’ Exports Surge by 412.49%
In this sector, freight services’ exports surged by 412.49% from 12.570 million dollars last year to 64.420 million dollars. The exports of other seas transport services also witnessed increase of 295.77% from 7.330 million US dollars to 29.010 million dollars this year, the data revealed.

Air transport’s exports surged by 29.85% by going up from 126.720 million dollars previous year to 164.550 million dollars during the period from July to September this fiscal year.
Passenger Services’ Exports Surge by 37%
In air transport sector, passenger services’ exports surged by 37%, from 83.100 million dollars to 113.850 million. Freight services’ exports increased by 71.43%, from 6.510 million dollars to 11.160 million dollars. Road transport services’ exports during the period recorded a growth of 139.87% by going up from 1.530 million dollars to 3.670 million dollars this year.
The postal and courier services’ exports also surged by 21.67%, from 1.800 million US dollars to 2.190 million dollars. – APP
